cookie jar roundup!

When I was growing up, my mom had a cookie jar shaped like a house.
It looked something like this one. But more pastel.
More often then not, it was filled with some sort of treat: good 'ol chocolate chip cookies, gingersnaps, or oatmeal raisin (my dad's favorite).
Why do I have cookie jars on the brain?
well.
let me tell you.
But first, here's a few that caught my eye...
cookie jars
1. a pretty pink tin canister. $15
2. For the British in you, because 'biscuits' is just another word for 'cookies.' $35
3. death Star cookie jar. I bet you won't have to 'force' people to eat the cookies in this container. ;) $20
4. a hammered copper one. It has a 4 quart capacity. I wonder how many cookies that equates to? $25
5. this one is perfect for cookies or flour or just about anything else. Simple and gorgeous. $41
6. sturdy vintage cookie jar, made in the USA. (weighs 6 lbs!) $70
7. a house cookie jar that was hand painted and made in Japan.$38
8. a white stoneware cookie jar from Crate & Barrel. Fill it with your favorite cookies, tie a ribbon around it, and this would make a lovely wedding/hostess gift. $24.95
9. monk cookie jar: ideal for the household that has children who need a reminder to ASK for a cookie first. :) $40

I found a cookie jar at world market earlier this month and finally gave in and bought it.
Because I think it was made for me.
It's perfect, with it's mint green color and it's scalloped edges... it makes me feel like Spring is coming.
Do you have a cookie jar? What does it look like?
and, most importantly, What cookies should I make??

What a cute cookie jar! I need to get one. My roommate has one and I thought it a jar to hold flour, so I put flour in it (haha). I think you should make these cookies--> http://www.fifteenspatulas.com/ooey-gooey-rocky-road-cookies/

These are SO good. I made them a couple of months ago and they were almost instantly gone.

I do have a cookie jar and you have to keep me away from it! We have soft ginger cookies in it now and they are to die for. Here's the recipe:
